21 things NOT to do when you're seeing Lord of the Rings

1. Stand up halfway through the movie and yell loudly, "Wait.where the hell
is Harry Potter?"

2. Block the entrance to the theater while screaming, "YOU...SHALL NOT...
PASS!" - After the movie, say "Lucas could have done it better."

3. Play a drinking game where you have to take a sip every time someone
says, "the Ring."

4. Point and laugh whenever someone dies.

5. Ask everyone around you if they think Gandalf went to Hogwarts.

6. Finish off every one of Elrond's lines with "Mis..ter Ander-sonnn."

7. When Aragorn is crowned king, stand up and at the top of your lungs sing,
"And I did it.. MY way.!"

8. Talk like Gollum all through the movie. At the end, bite off someone's
finger and fall down the stairs.

9. Dress up as old ladies and reenact "The Battle of Helms Deep," Monty
Python style.

10. When Denethor lights the fire, shout "Barbecue!"

11. In TTT when the Ents decide to march to war, stand up and shout, "RUN
FOREST, RUN!"

12. Every time someone kills an Orc, yell: "That's what I'm Tolkien about!"
See how long it takes before you get kicked out of the theatre.

13. During a wide shot of a battle, inquire, "Where's Waldo?"

14. Talk loudly about how you heard that there is a single frame of a nude
Elf hidden somewhere in the movie.

15. Start an Orc sing-a-long.

16. Come to the premiere dressed as Frankenfurter and wander around looking
terribly confused.

17. When they go in the paths of the dead, wait for a tense moment and
shout, "I see dead people!"

18. Imitate what you think a conversation between Gollum, Dobby and Yoda
would be like.

19. Release a jar of daddy-long-legs into the theater during the Shelob
scene.

20. Wonder out loud if Aragorn is going to run for governor of California.

21. When Shelob comes on, exclaim, "Man! Charlotte's really let herself go!"

Taking the Plunge(r)

When new parents come home from the hospital after the babies birth, they are usually loaded down with free samples of stuff. Things like diapers, formula, bottles, baby wash and other assorted things. However I've come to realize that they don't give you one of the essentials. Namely a toilet plunger. Before I had kids, I don't think I ever had to use one let alone having one in the house. Now I have three of them. With a four year old in the house who loves toilet paper, I have even started to have my favorite one. How sad is that?? The standard upside down bowl shaped ones just don't do the trick. You have to use a special shaped one so the water doesn't splash back at you as you are frantically plunging away. You have to be especially fast on the upstairs clogs. Don't want them all over the floor where it can leak to the downstairs.

And don't even get me started on toilet snakes........

Let it Snow (for now)

Just got back in from playing out in the snow. Had a good snowball fight with Pickle. He is getting pretty good at throwing them. He got one down my coat and then laughed as I tried to get the snow out. He did pitch a fit when I told him it was time to come in. If it is still there tomorrow, we will probably had back out and build a small snowman.

Tink, I miss you.....

Happy Thanksgiving

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Things were good here. We had our big dinner on Tuesday since Tink's parents were in town. Had all the usual stuff, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, butterscotch yams, and of course pumpkin pie. We were going to head on down to Detroit for the big parade on Thursday, but the weather was not that great. Not cold, but rainy. So we skipped it and Tink headed up north for the weekend. Since the girls are all at their mom's for the weekend, that left just Pickle and I around the house. Since he is only 4, his idea of a great Thanksgiving meal is either bologna and cheese sandwiches or mac and cheese. My mom found out and insisted that the 2 of us come down for dinner. We had a really good time down there. Food was good. Nothing overly interesting on the menu this year. The gravy was its normal brown color instead of the green that we had a few years ago :) Correction, there was one odd item on the table, some kind of spread that went on pita bread made of eggplant, limes and garlic. Strange looking, but tasted pretty good. Had key lime pie for dessert along with homemade cantaloup ice cream. Only Pickle really like the ice cream :)

Pickle is so funny. He just came running into the office shouting that we had to go outside right now. He grabbed my face and made me look out the window. It's snowing out. When I asked him why we had to go outside, he said he had to throw a snowball at me. I don't think we will get enough for that, but I think we are going to have to go out and play in it. I love being a big kid :)

New Quiz

I admit that I used to play D&D all the time, and I wish I still did play it. It was a blast to get to be someone that is so different then who I am in real life. Tink found this quiz and I had to take it. Thanks honey :)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I Am A: Neutral Good Elf Ranger Mage

Alignment:
Neutral Good characters believe in the power of good above all else. They will work to make the world a better place, and will do whatever is necessary to bring that about, whether it goes for or against whatever is considered 'normal'.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Secondary Class:
Mages harness the magical energies for their own use. Spells, spell books, and long hours in the library are their loves. While often not physically strong, their mental talents can make up for this.

Deity:
Mielikki is the Neutral Good goddess of the forest and autumn. She is also known as the Lady of the Forest, and is the Patron of Rangers. Her followers are devoted to nature, and believe in the positive and outreaching elements of it. They use light armor, and a variety of weapons suitable for hunting, which they are quite skilled at. Mielikki's symbol is a unicorn head.

ADD

Been way too long since I have done an entry. Sounds familiar doesn't it honey? I keep saying that I am going to get better about keeping up to date, but it never happens. Guess now I can blame my maybe ADD :) Tink found a medical site that had a short ADD quiz. Answering all the questions truthfully, I have to agree with the results. Although I have been convinced of that for years. Funny, I can admit that to myself, Tink and close friends, but for some reason I have a big problem bringing up the subject with a doctor. Guess I hate sounding like I'm making up problems like you hear about people doing. Doesn't make much sense I guess. TInk will have to kick me in the ass to get me to do something about it. She is good at that ;)

My job is still going very good. Getting along with everyone there and starting to get the hang of the machines. Been doing lots there. Working on making spring, tubes and even some prototypes. That is actually kinda fun. Trying to figure out how to translate the drawings into a real part and then let the engineers know how it should really be put on paper.

Good week

Well, it has been a pretty good week for a change. The new job is going great, better then I had hoped for. Been there 3 weeks and already getting a raise :) Having a real paycheck is very nice. The unemployment was not enough to pay the bills let alone do anything else.

Last Saturday, we went to go see Eddie Izzard. It was a great show. He is so funny. We got to Music Hall very early, around 6. The doors were open and no one stopped us from going in. We decided to try and find our seats and were wandering around when Eddie came out on stage to do his sound check. We stopped and started watching him. He was not really saying anything funny or important. Just rambling, when he looked up at us and said, "You can't be in here." We put our heads down and started to turn to leave when he said "I don't have a problem with it, but you are making me fucking nervous. You are looking at me like you are expecting me to say something funny. But you can't leave either. Just walk around and pretend you are not paying any attention to me!". That really got us laughing. We wandered around a bit, trying to blend in when a very big man told us we had to leave until the theater opened. After the show, we were able to get Eddies autograph and picture taken with us. I'll post them in a few days.

Time for me to get some sleep. I'm still trying to get on a good sleep schedule. Hard to get up at 5:30 if I stay up until midnight or beyond :)

Fuckable Five

For a long time, Tink and I have always said that we could put five celebrities on a list for sex. In the very unlikely event that we ever ran into one of them, and they agree of course, then sex can be had with no worry about partners being mad.
Tink made up her list the other day, so it is time to make up mine. I have gone back and forth a bit on some of the ladies, but I guess I could always change it later.

Here they are in no particular order

1- Alyson Hannigan

2- Jada Pinkett Smith

3- Natalie Portman

4- Julia Stilies

5- Kirsten Dunst

New Job

Well, tomorrow morning at 9AM I start my new job. Nothing glamours, but it will help pay the bills. Setting up and running press machines. I have not done any work like that in a very long time, but I guess they were impressed with me in the interview. Applied for the job on Thursday, had a 2 hour long interview that afternoon and got a call tonight around 9PM. Don't know why they called that late instead of during the day, but right now I really don't care :) I will admit that I am a bit nervous about it. Feels like I am a kid starting his first day at a new school. Will there be bullies?? Will I make friends?? And the biggest one, will I work out there?? I'll find out all of that that tomorrow, but now I have to get used to going to bed at a normal time. I'm a working guy now :)

Two down, One to go

A couple of months ago our cat got out of the house and got knocked up. Lucky us. Just what I wanted, kittens. I know that I am a bit at fault here. We should have gotten her fixed, but never got around to it. So she ended up having 5 kittens under our bed one saturday morning. The runt however did not make it and ended up getting buried about a week later. My youngest daughter was a bit sad about it, but that is life. The other 4 made it very well and have lately been running around the house driving us nuts. Well, two ended up leaving today :) One of them, Oz is Jen's cat, so will be here for a while still. That leaves us with one kitten, Trogdor. I had been thinking about keeping him, but with not having a job, we really don't have extra $$ to spend on everything a kitten needs. I think I am going to run into some problems with convincing Tink though. She can be very persuasive when she wants to do and I am not that good at saying no when she really wants something. Guess I need to hurry up and find a home for him before she gets home LOL

Sleeping with chainsaws

One of the advantages of being laid off is the chance to get to sleep in. Nothing extreme, but sleeping until 8 instead of 7. Kinda like a very long weekend. This morning however, that was not to happen. I was awoken at 6:30 am by the sound of a chain saw. I really don't care what the hell they were cutting down, but was it really so important that it could not have waited another hour or so?? I'm pretty sure that I am not the only one who enjoys sleeping in a bit. Ah well, nothing much I could do about it short of running out there and making a scene, but it is too damn cold for that. Only 33 out there and that would have woken me for sure.

I was going to post this pic yesterday, but if this is a preview of how my day is going to be, I'm glad I waited until today

What day is it?

Is it Friday yet? Is it even close? So far it has been one of those weeks. I feel like I have a permanent "case of the Mondays", to steal a line from Office Space. Nothing is really wrong really, just nothing is happening either. And I've gotta get something happening here soon before I go crazy, well, more then I usually am (see yesterdays entry).
Gonna have some fun this weekend though. Heading to the Michigan Renaissance Festival with some friends and family. It is going to be a great time. We went last year and even got Tink a great renaissance dress. Green with a tan vest. Looks great on her. I'll have to get some pics posted of her wearing it this year.

I also have a game to post today. I used to do this everyday, but that got tiring after a bit. Maybe I'll just start doing one a week for now.

Here it is. Enjoy and have fun.

Sleep

Three hours is more then enough right? This is really starting to drive me nuts. I just can't seem to sleep much anymore. I'm tired, so it's not like my body is getting enough. I want to sleep, but for some reason I just can't. Last 3 nights I have not been able to fall asleep before 2 A.M. Now that is not too bad, but I woke up this morning at 5. Don't even know what woke me. Can't remember having a bad dream or anything. Now here I sit at the computer. For the most part just staring at it really. And damn, I'm sleepy.

Well, I guess this will come as no suprise to anyone who knows me :)

You are the Weasly Little Pervert. Your chances of
survival from moment 1 were 10 billion to 1.
You have just spent the last moment of your
life touching yourself while watching a girl
shower, only to have a blade of some sort
shoved straight through the back of your skull.
And you probably deserved it too! It's what you
get for annoying the hell out of everyone else

What Next???

I find myself asking that question after everything that has been going on in my life... I'm starting to feel that the old phrase "No good deed goes unpunished" is really true. For years I've tried to do the right things even if they have not been the best for myself and all I have been getting in return is big kicks in the balls. I am loosing control of my life and am not sure how to stop that from happening. My oldest daughter just moved in with her mom after problems here with her sister. Now that inself may be somewhat understandable, but oldest and her mother do not really get along. I have spent countless hours listening to oldest about stuff with mom. Several months ago, this subject came up after we moved and the kids were going to be going to a new school. It took awhile, but after talking with everyone involved, it was decided that oldest should remain living with me. No more talk about it until the other day, when the ex called me and told me she was moving in. I tried to argue but the ex told me something that was true... If she took it to court, they would tell me the oldest could live with whatever parent she wanted to... So she moved that night. No sorry dad for going behind your back.... not talking with you about this, nothing. And shit it hurts... more then Tink or anyone else can guess. I'm trying very hard not to be mad at oldest right now, but not really suceeding with that plan. I have not really talked to her since she moved, but then again, she has not tried either. Makes me wonder who is being more childish here... Her for moving the way she did or me for my wounded pride.

Add to that job hunting, a truck that is about on it's last legs, bills, house work, and dealing with all the other every day things that are going on..... No wonder Tink gets out of here when she can to go for walks and stuff.
So what is next??? I'm not sure I really want to know...

Damn Gas Prices

Fuck, Fuck, Fuck.... I usually don't swear that much here, but FUCK..... I just ran out to pick up some lunch and drove by the gas station. The bastards just upped the prices another 15 cents a gallon since this morning... that makes close to 70 cents in the last 2 months. The price is up to $1.90 a gallon now. And from what I just read, they are supposed to be going up even more. And they say they don't jack the prices during weekends or holidays. That is the only time the prices go up around here.
I found this site, it might help a bit. It keeps track of prices in your area. Might help get alittle more for the buck.

Killing me softly

I know... stupid title for a post, but I have not done one for a while and my adoring public (all 2 of you *lol*) will abandon me if I don't put something up. Same old shit going on around here. Still looking for a job, still don't have enough $$ for everything that we need to do, Kids still think they know more then us adults, and the ex is still a pain in my ass. I threw the last one in there just as a rant. All in all, she has not been too bad, kinda like a sliver just under the skin. Not enough to really hurt, but it still bugs the hell out of you.
I guess I should not complain. There are plenty of people who have it worse then we do. We have a house, a car, food. More then a couple of people that I met today. I find it amazing that someone who has nothing can still remain upbeat and friendly. I actually admire them. It has got to be damn hard to do. They had just lost their house in a fire along with their car and all their belongings. 2 kids and they were both unemployed. Made me feel like we have things pretty good.
In an effort to break myself out of the funk I was feeling when I got home, I went to this site. A fun little execution game. You have to choose who to knock off. Harder then it sounds sometimes :)

Movie Review

Went to the drive in movies last night. There is nothing better then the drive in. It is so much better then a regular theater. I pull the back seat out of the suburban, put down blankets and pillows and just back the truck into the parking spot. I love the drive in because you don't have to buy the snacks they sell. We take a cooler with pop, bunches of snacks and a pizza. I have even seen people take a bbq grill in and cook hamburgers, but I think they really frown on that. We are lucky that we have 2 drive in theaters in our area. We have only ever gone to one cause it is closer though. Another nice thing about the drive in is 2 movies for the price of one. And cause you are in your own vehicle, if you don't like one of the movies, go to sleep :)
We saw S.W.A.T and Bad Boys 2. Both were pretty good, but S.W.A.T. was a bit better. I got bored with BB2 about 90 minutes into it. The movie was over 2 hours long. Much longer then it had to be. Will Smith had some funny lines that kept in going in the dry spots, but that only held my interest for so long. Ah well, it was a night out of the house that we don't get often enough. Can't complain about that.

A bit of a smile

I was doing my normal bit of surfing today and wandered on over to B3TA for a bit. There is usually something good over there to make me laugh. They had a little game going on of finding the strangest Amazon.com product reviews. You know, for every product they sell, there is an area for customers to review the product. Well, I found this one that just cracked me up. Here is the entire review along with a link so you can check it out for yourself.

Text from review:

Reviewer: An Amazon.com Customer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania United States
This book is one of the most disjointed novels I've read in a long while. If you think about it, it's more a collection of short stories by various authors that tell the story of God and his sundry children, most of them Hebraic. God is a pretty powerful heavy, though it's implied that he incorporeal and invisible. Although he's usually depicted in the movies sitting on a throne and sporting a long beard, in "Exodus," he appears as a bolt of fire. Other places in the book, he speaks as a burning bush. Excellent special fx all throughout.

There's a lot of begats going on, and in the chapter titled "Song of Solomon," we get a nice PG-13 to R-rated glimpse of the ... sensual mores of these people.

There's also a pretty cool story about this guy named Job and how God had an ongoing bet with Satan as to who would win his soul. I don't want to give away the ending, but there's a lot of pathos, hubris and plotlines right out of such movies as "Trading Places," "Meet John Doe" and "Life Stinks."

My favorite one, though is about Moses, and how he led his people out of Egypt and to the promised land. Along the way, though, Dathan tries to make them worship a golden calf. Personally, I preferred the movie version, as directed by Cecil B. deMille: The character development of Moses (played by Chuck Heston), Dathan (Edward G. Robinson) and Moses' mother (the ever comely Anne Baxter) is much improved. And also, in Technicolor.

There is little plot to this book, save for in the second half, much of which revolves around God's son, Jesus, an interesting fellow. Definitely, the story has finally hit a stride, so the New Testament reads like a novella. Everywhere this Jesus guy goes, he travels with his posse of "Apostles," who aren't your standard yes men. Although they all sing his praises when the going's good, one gives a great "I don't know about no Jesus" performance (Peter) worthy of a scruffy rat like Steve Buscemi. Another (Judas) sells out Jesus for a bunch of dead presidents, like Sean Penn did in "Carlito's Way." Unfortunately, Jesus gets rubbed out by an Italian gang, "The Romans," who torture him and nail him to a cross in revenge for representing on their turf. Lots of high drama here.

"Revelations" was pretty weird, sort of like watching "Fantasia" while doing mushrooms, only a lot scarier.

Altogether, an excellent read.

Working at Surfing

Another week has come and gone and I am still job hunting. It is starting to get really frustrating. I want to get out of the house and get busy with some kind of a job, but the only things in this area are very low paying ones. I actually would make more on unemployment then taking one of them. I do have an interview later this week for a copier company, but that is not my first choice for work. If only the .com bubble had not burst. I could be making money just sitting at my computer like all those e-mails I got said :) I don't really know if anyone ever got more then a few bucks from responding. I know we did answer some online surveys a while back and got paid for those. Hell, I could sit at the computer all day answering surveys. Instead, now I sit here searching want ads and getting distracted by all the cool stuff on the web.
One of those things I found has to be the most annoying game out there. Thanks to B3TA for this one.
Now back to the job hunt :)

Todays Strange Games

Todays game of the day is actually 9 small games all centered around cats. The page is all in Japanese as are the game instructions, but all of them can be figured out without too much problem. There are also some other links on the bottom of the page with some other strange games. I have not figured out all of them yet, but most are pretty good.
If you enjoy this Game of the Day "feature", leave me a comment and let me know. Also let me know what kind of games you enjoy and I'll do my best to post some.

Questions from The Friday Five

And now for something very important

Oh sorry... I guess it is just the game of the day. Well, I guess it would be important for the regular visitors to this site... all 2 of you :) What do they say.. It's not the quantity but the quality.
Todays game is Putt Putt golf. I know there are a ton of these on the web, but I doubt you have seen one like this. When you visit the site, it will ask a question about "Hyperload". If you do not want to keep the game on your computer, just answer no. If you change your mind, reload the page and answer yes.

And in the quiz from yesterday, I was "Bubs". I don't know what is going on with the picture that is supposed to be showing. Sometimes it is there, and sometimes not. All the coding is correct, so I'm guessing it has something to do with Geocities, were the quiz is located

HomeStar Runner Quiz

Time for a real entry. Well, I guess not really real, but you know what I mean. Something that has nothing to do with games... So instead I bring you the other big thing on the internet... Quizes :) Just about everyone I know detests them, but after looking at their blog, you can find quiz results. I don't do them very often, but I had to do this one.
Hope you like this one Tink

Which Homestar Runner character are you?

Guess What..... It's the Game of the Day

Who says Microsoft does not have a sense of humor. I found this cute little game by them that makes fun of the damn paper clip that comes with Office. I hate that thing. Have fun shooting rubberbands and firing staples at it.

Game of the Day

Todays game is a remake of the classic Pong. I actually remember playing it at a pizza place I used to go to as a kid. Loved the game and wasted lots of hard earned paper delivery money there.

Kind of a sad day..... It would be nice to get a hold of a new old one... Damn environmental regulations.

Game of the Day

This is one that I actually had to look for, not something I just stumbled across. Back in the early 90's, when my computer system was a screaming 486 running Windows 3.0, I had a paper airplane making program. It was really cool let you test and print out designs. Wasted alot of time with the kids doing that.
This is not quite as fun, but it beats trying to get your folds just right.

Family of Geeks

This truely is a family of geeks and I love it. Currently I am sitting in the office with the laptop on my lap of all places :) My beautiful Tink is sitting next to me on the desktop system playing Black & White. She has been sitting there since around 3pm and it is now almost 11pm. That is 8 hours on one game. Damn... I can't even bring myself to do much for 8 hours straight :) Oh well, that is what I love about her. She loves playing games and messing around with the puter almost as much as I do. That does lead to some problems though, like when is it going to be my turn to play?? Guess I'm gonna have to drag her off to the bedroom and show her some different games ;)

Albino Blacksheep - Flash / Honda Accord Ad

This has to be the best car ad I have ever seen. Check it out. Only about 1 minute long

Birthday Blues

Today my little boy turnes 4. I can't believe it. I feel so lucky to be in his life. He and his mom, now my wife, moved in with me when he was only 10 months old. I feel so honored that I have been there to watch him go from crawling, to walking (quickly followed by running LOL), talking, learning, playing and in general giving me as much happiness as I hope I have given him.
These years have flown by way to quickly, for as young as he makes me feel sometimes, the idea of him turning 4 makes me feel really old. Where has all of this time gone to?

I love you Dylan... Happy Birthday

Jumping Around

I think I am going to be taking the jump and making this my new diary site. It has alot of features that I really like over deardiary, but in thinking, there are some features that I am going to miss. I'm probably going to go back and forth for a while and in the process, drive my wife nuts. It still sounds strange to say wife and not girlfriend. But we went down to the Sec of State and made it official as far as they are concerned.

It has gotten very late and I have to take the oldest brat to school in the morning (Summer school sucks, and not just for the kids).

Just a quick note to all those getting married. Moot point since most places have banned it.

Fireworks Forever

Went to the Detroit fireworks last night. Had a really good time. Did not have the best seats in the world for watching, but I had my Tink right next to me so that was worth it. We made great time getting there, arriving at Belle Isle around 5:45. The fireworks did not start until 10pm, but the island was alread packed with half of it shut down to traffic. We found a really nice out of the way place right on the river and just relaxed there for a while. Around 9 or so, we loaded up the truck and found a place that we could see the fire works better. I could not believe how big and long they went on for, about 45 minutes. Then the fun began. We had to get off the island :) That took a good 2 hours or stop and go traffic and dealing with a$$holes driving on the sidewalks and grass. We finally made it into Detroit proper and over to my moms house. Leaving there we had the fun of police not letting us turn where we needed to turn to get home. After taking a little tour of Detroits darker side, I finally made it to a freeway only to find that the connector to I-75 north was closed off with flares. I guess I was tired and cranky cause I did not let a few flares stop me. I was the only one who got on and then we were home an hour later. I don't even want to guess how long it would have taken if I had not exited where I did.

Welcome to Me

My first post to this site is dedicated to one of my best friends :) Jen. I met her through my girlfriend, Tink. We just found out that she is going to be moving down here with us. I am very excited about that. My own little "harem". Truely, she is a wonderful friend. I feel very honored to know her and have her as part of my life. It is going to be great having her down here. Her and Tink are the best of friends. They make a very "powerful" team together. Both her and Tink will know what I am talking about. Hopefully someday I will be able to complement them in that department.
So get your ass down here soon Jen. I'll have a bedroom reserved for you.
